Before taking up a full-time position with Athabasca as Academic Coordinator for French, Audrey taught a variety of French courses at Grant MacEwan College, the University of Alberta and Concordia University College.

Her main research interests are in the area of contemporary Francophone literature, specifically spatial representation and environmental discourse in the twentieth-century novel. She has presented papers on the works of French novellists J.M.G. Le Clézio, Michel Tournier and Yves Berger.

Other areas of research include second language teaching strategies, the Internet as a tool for second language learning, Quebec literature and film, children’s literature and translation strategies.
