Prior to becoming a tutor at Athabasca, Kirsten taught French courses at Grant MacEwan University, the University of Alberta, and for the Government of Alberta. She grew up in a French community in Alberta, lived in and taught in France, and holds a Masters in French Translation from the University of Alberta. Her Master’s thesis involved the translation and commentary surrounding Marie-Paule Monchaux’s 'L’esprit des Mots,' a delightful poetic novel celebrating the beauty of the French language. Kirsten enjoys sharing her passion for French culture, language, and translation, and imparting her expertise to her students.
