Mike Sosteric, that's me, is an associate professor of sociology at Athabasca University. My work focuses on historical and contemporary analysis of human spirituality, religion, mysticism, mystical experience, and its powerful and transformative potential. I also focus on the intersections of social class, gender, and ethnicity on how these impact our individual and collective understanding and implementation of spirituality and spiritual systems. I am specifically concerned with developing a decolonized and authentic form of spirituality and a spiritually sophisticated form of psychology.
